BTA Students of the Month
The Brocton Teachers’ Association is pleased to announce the students of the month for May, 2010

Our high school winner is senior Alexander DeGolier, son of Alice Hodge and Ken DeGolier. Alex is a 3-1-3 student at SUNY Fredonia this year and is a member of the National Honor Society. Alex has been the musical lighting director for the past four years. He spends many of his after school hours in the school weight room. He also has been a member of our school band since sixth grade, was chosen for all-County band and is consistently an honor roll student. Outside of school, Alex enjoys the outdoors—camping, working, star gazing (thanks to Mr. Stone’s astronomy course), bike riding and reading physics works by Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking and others. Alex’s favorite class is physics and he plans to attend the University of Buffalo next year to major in engineering.

The middle school winner for May is seventh grader Kenya Stanton, daughter of Scott and Lisa Stanton of Portland. Kenya is involved in sports, both for Brocton Central and the community, including 7th and 8th grade basketball, Brocton/Portland Midget cheerleader, little league softball and travel soccer for Northwest Chautauqua. She plays saxophone for the school band and is a merit and honor roll student. Kenya attends the First Baptist Church in Westfield and is also a member of their Bible quiz team and attends youth group. Her favorite subject is math.
Congratulations Alex and Kenya!
The Brocton Teachers’ Association is also pleased to announce the students of the month for June, 2010:

Our high school winner is senior Charli Clutter, daughter of Kathryn Snow and Paul Clutter of Portland. Charli enjoys reading, listening to music, and playing with her animals: two dogs Flowbug and Rosebud and her goats. Charli plans to attend Jamestown Community College in the fall majoring in social work.
The middle school winner is sixth grader Ryan Johnson, son of Brian and Darla Johnson of the village of Brocton. He is an honor roll student and his favorite subject is social studies. Ryan is a little league baseball pitcher who tried out for Babe Ruth and made the team. His favorite team is the NY Yankees. He also enjoys working hard and playing sports.
Congratulations to our Retirees
This June we say farewell to three dedicated BTA members who have made an impact not only on the lives of their students, but on the BTA members with whom they worked.
Congratulations to Jean Glowniak, Patty Petrella and Nance Ortolano. You leave the BTA as exemplars of leadership, commitment and devotion to students. You will not be forgotten.
